An elegant, lace wedding dress for a romantic destination wedding......

     The exquisite photography by talented Italian based sustainable wedding photographer Benni Carol perfectly captures the romance and elegance of this magical wedding. Set in the picturesque region of Gubbio, Italy at the Palazzo Ducale di Gubbio, Bridget’s day was the epitome of modern elegance. 

THE DRESS

Bridget came to me after a struggle trying to find the perfect wedding dress in the bridal boutiques. She was feeling underwhelmed not only by the quality of the fabrics she came across, but also the lack of choice in terms of a more simple and elegant sustainable wedding dress. 

 I knew when I met her I could meet her expectations, and designed her this unique, one of a kind wedding dress that would be perfectly at home in her sophisticated Italian destination wedding. Made from a delicate French Chantilly Eco lace, with scalloped edging, eco silk crepe Georgette and satin skirt, I added finishing touches with beautiful covered buttons and pleated off-the-shoulder sleeves. The whole thing was handmade to perfection from start to finish right here in my studio. 

A few words from Bridget.....

     Bridget says: “I found shopping for wedding dresses extremely stressful. I wanted a dress that was simple, elegant and reflected my personality. In addition, I wanted a dress that was sustainable and not manufactured in a different country. 

'I came across Gemma Leakey through Benni Carols website. Gemma is kind, a great listener and very professional. I discussed my ideas and vision with Gemma and she was able to gather all the information and design a wedding dress that reflected my personality. Gemma was very patient with me despite me changing my mind several times throughout! 

The end result was amazing. Gemma created a beautiful, elegant, romantic dress and I felt amazing wearing it. Thank you so much Gemma, I will never forget the experience working with you to create this bespoke wedding dress.
