RACHEL

Rachel came to me with a beautiful little sketch, having a clear vision of her dream dress right from the start. She had an idea of the fabric she wanted as well as the details and needed someone with a touch of magic to turn her beautiful sketch into the dress of her dreams. Rachel came across me through some local advertising and was drawn to the sustainable way I do things and my focus on locally sourced materials. 

Having a petite frame, Rachel had had a disappointing experience in the bridal boutiques that left her feeling swamped in layers of fabrics, princess shapes and over the top detailing. 

When I met Rachel, I listened to her desires and what was important to her in a wedding dress, ensuring I met her expectations through every step of the way. 

Rachel’s dress is made from a beautiful ivory beaded Chantilly lace, sourced from a UK lace supplier. The delicate cording and floral design is finished off with a beautiful scalloped border. To use as much of the fabric as I could and to make the most of the incredible intricacy of it, I used the border as the edge for the sleeve hems and open cut out back detailing. 

The skirt is made from a luxurious Italian ivory eco crepe. It has a magnificent drape and subtle sheen. Woven with sustainable yarns, the viscose comes from the waste from the cotton spinning with a GRS certificate and the acetate has a FSC declaration.
